The day before Humala BBQ-Master we train new KCBS judges at Grillitalu. Everyone who completes the class gets a certificate and can go on to judge KCBS competitions anywhere in the world — starting right here the very next day.
At an international BBQ competition the entries are scored by KCBS certified judges who have taken the class, know the rulebook and judge every entry the same way.
On Friday, 23 April 2027, Grillitalu hosts the KCBS judging class, where a new generation of Estonian BBQ judges is trained. Everyone who completes it is a certified judge and the certificate is valid internationally.
And there's somewhere to use it right away. The next day, on Saturday, we hold Humala BBQ-Master right here — a competition run under KCBS rules, which the newly certified judges can come and score straight away.
You don't have to be a professional cook or a competition griller to judge. You need interest, an honest palate and a willingness to follow the rules. KCBS sets three conditions for a certified judge:
The class and certification at Grillitalu. Times to be confirmed.
The legendary competition has already been held four times, now internationally under KCBS rules. Four rounds: chicken, pork ribs, pork and brisket. The newly certified judges can start scoring right away.
The two events belong together: you learn on Friday and judge on Saturday. If you're coming from further away, Grillitalu accommodation is open from Friday, so you don't have to drive in on the morning.
Registration opens together with the details. Leave your contact today and you'll be among the first to know.
